I'm working on a project where I'm thinking about the future of the pharmaceutical industry. We're trying to reflect about the future of pharma in three specific areas:

  • Well-being;
  • Digital/Data;
  • Marketplace.

On the well-being front, we're reflecting on how technologies and apps like Happify, products like the Nose Filters, and burnout retreats make us more aware of our own well-being and how we're taking steps to improve ourselves daily. With these kinds of tools (and all the wearables we currently have), the pharma industry may need to rethink their first products, and they may need to create more awareness to improve health, instead of merely treating diseases.

For the digital and data, we're looking at products and services built on tech devices that can change the way pharma sees its core business. Such examples are the CureApp or the EndeavorRX. I'm interested in the gaming industry being applied to the pharmaceutical industry. If you have any references, let me know!

For the Marketplace, we want to explore how pharmaceuticals companies will distribute and make their products available in the future. I'm still a little lost in this category. The 3D printing and drug customization options are fascinating, but I don't see a lot of cases and examples. The B2B marketplace space in pharma is very interesting. I don't have a lot of cases, products, services or startups to refer, though.

I'd love to read your thoughts about the future of pharma on these three pillars. If you know of any startups, references, products, technologies, or services that can help me with my research, let me know!
