New year, new car? House? Me? What would it be for you this 2024? New years are usually filled with new plans, new resolutions, and new to-do lists–and there’s nothing wrong with these. It’s important to prepare for the future. In fact, we must. Because no matter how thoroughly we prepare, life will sometimes catch us off guard and give us a wonderful (or even, a terrible) surprise. But here’s one thing that shouldn’t surprise us: new year, same God. Our God does not change (Malachi 3:6); He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). So if we made it through last year with Him, we will also make it through this year with Him. But that’s the catch: We have to be with Him. We have to include God, seek His wisdom, listen to His voice, and follow His lead. But how? One way we can do this is by immersing ourselves in the Bible. God has given us His Word as a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths (Psalm 119:105). That’s where we’ll find His instructions on how to navigate this life, along with His encouragement for when we feel down and about to give up. No wonder we’re called to meditate on the Bible day and night (Joshua 1:8). And as your companion in receiving, reflecting on, and responding to God’s Word, we’ve prepared a couple of resources on our Facebook and Instagram accounts for you this Bible Month. We’re really excited to share them with you, so we included one in this email. Click on the image below to watch it. |
