Caloy's double gold

In a historic feat during the country's centennial Olympic participation, Carlos Yulo triumphed in the men's floor exercise and vault apparatus, securing two gold medals for the Philippines. Meanwhile, Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio each won bronze medals in their respective categories in women's boxing.

The 24-year-old gymnast's life is set to change, as he will receive substantial incentives under the law, along with additional cash, properties, and services pledged by private companies, including a high-end condominium unit and free flights for life.

Following Yulo's win, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said he will ask the bemedalled gymnast what the government should do to help increase the country's medal count in the next Olympics.

Yulo's achievement, despite his historic campaign in Paris, was somewhat clouded by controversies when his rift with his mother over money and his girlfriend surfaced online. He addressed the issue in a video to his mother, urging her to heal and move on.
