Dear Edward, The -ber months are here. Immediately we feel the slight chill in the air and start to hear the sound of nostalgic carols all around. Before we know it, it'll be Christmas! Soon, everyone will be abuzz meeting year-end targets, finishing reports, and squeezing in last-minute shopping. It is easy to get lost in the revelry of the Season--after all, it is "the most wonderful time of the year." But before we find ourselves getting overwhelmed, I invite you to pause, take a deep breath, and meditate on this truth from Philippians 4:6, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." As it is, we are already living in a 'crazy' world. With the added weight of this season, it is all the more important that we spend time with the Lord in intimate prayer, personal worship, and reading His Word. This way, we won’t get swept by the rush of the holidays. I pray that we’ll all find the time to take it slow, enjoy the moment, give thanks to God, and savor our time in God’s Word each day. To help you with that, here at Our Daily Bread Ministries, we have a variety of resources in print and digital formats that will help you engage with your Bible. Please feel free to access them here: www.odb.org and order them here: www.ourdailybreadpilipinas.org. Before I close, may I invite you to pray with us? Please pray that the Lord will prosper the work of Our Daily Bread Ministries Philippines. May the resources that we produce reach the people who need insight and encouragement and lead them to life-changing encounters with God's Word. It’s been wonderful connecting with you. I hope our short time together encouraged you as much as it did me. In His service, Amor Aurelio B. Alvarez Country Director Our Daily Bread Ministries Philippines |
